Nether Stowey Literary Walk
The walk was very well received taking in the history of former residents Thomas Poole, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth and including an illuminating talk about the history of Somerset’s first ever free state-funded schools, and included an animated talks from Stuart Prior, Senior Lecturer in Archeology, University of Bristol and Martin Hesp local journalist and author.
“ I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the walk yesterday. I thought you had planned it really well...a good mixture of talks and we all learnt some more about Stowey” - Walk Participant
“ Just to say what a good time we have had; I think Crispin would have got most pleasure from bringing all the people he knew and liked together for a walk and a chat....rather ilike a party!” - Walk Participant.
The event raised £570 for the Crispin Aubrey Legacy Fund.
